Dear RAC/BAC/HFAC Community Members,
I know many of you, like myself, are wondering what you can do to help respond to the tragic earthquake in Haiti. There are many reputable organizations accepting donations and providing relief, including the following:
The American Red Cross (www.americanredcross.org )
Doctors Without Borders (doctorswithoutborders.org )
Unicef (www.unicef.org )
At this time, the Oregon Athletic Clubs community has decided to collect donations for the local non-profit Mercy Corps (www.mercycorps.org ). From Saturday, January 16th through Monday, January 25th you will find Mercy Corps donation collection jars for cash and checks located at our front desks. (Please make your checks out directly to Mercy Corps, we will take care of mailing them on your behalf). We have also decided to allow member account holders to charge up to $100 for a Mercy Corps donation on your club account.
